MULTI Turkey initiates another very meaningful project on World Down Syndrome Day. The communication project named “Fazlasıyla” (exceedingly wholeheartedly) carried out in cooperation with ZİÇEV and the Down Syndrome Association of Turkey, aims to create social benefit for individuals with Down syndrome and disadvantaged groups in shopping centers throughout March. As part of the project, to enable individuals with Down syndrome to express themselves, raise awareness in society and draw attention to the change that social life will create among individuals with Down syndrome, the communication films shot in the shopping centers are shared on the social media accounts of all shopping centers within the portfolio of Multi Turkey, aiming to reach millions of people.
We recognize our responsibilities as per our diversity and inclusion policy
Ertuğrul Acar, CEO of Multi Turkey, expressed his satisfaction for taking an important step towards raising awareness about Down syndrome with the project and said: “As Multi, it is an important social responsibility for us to support the participation of individuals with Down syndrome in social life. Our diversity and inclusion policy is shaped by the vision of providing equal opportunities for everyone. We continue to work with determination to raise awareness by taking an active stance against discrimination.
In our corporate social responsibility report, we concretely commit the steps we have taken in line with the United Nations Development Goals. Our cooperation with ZİÇEV and the Down Syndrome Association of Turkey, who carry out important studies on Down syndrome and raise awareness on this issue, has also given us excitement and happiness. I would like to thank all the stakeholders and my valuable teammates who have contributed to the project we have implemented with the motto “Fazlasıyla” (exceedingly wholeheartedly) by Grafis-DDB. With this cooperation, we are proud to contribute to a more inclusive future.’
The project will be launched simultaneously in 13 shopping centers managed by Multi Turkey in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Mersin, Kayseri, Denizli, Aydın, Cappadocia, Erzurum, Gaziantep and Manisa.
Supporting the employment of individuals with Down syndrome
Within the scope of the project, volunteers of ZİÇEV and the Down Syndrome Association of Turkey, individuals with Down syndrome and their families will come together in Multi Turkey’s shopping centers and have the opportunity to inform tens of thousands of people about Down syndrome and the projects for individuals with Down syndrome.
The Down Syndrome Association of Turkey, providing coaching to individuals with Down syndrome and supporting them in the processes of job search and the sustainability of their working lives, will be able to convey its activities in the field of employment to a wide audience with this project implemented by Multi Turkey and communicate its important messages regarding the employment of individuals with Down syndrome to the leading companies within the shopping centers.
This project, organized to effectively include individuals with Down syndrome in social and business life, and raise awareness by making them more visible, will also underline the fact that Down syndrome is not a disease but a genetic difference.
Multi Turkey supports ZİÇEV and the Down Syndrome Association of Turkey, who fight for the inalienable rights of individuals with Down syndrome, and calls for equality and awareness by saying “If we are together, life is exceedingly beautiful”.
