On 23 November 2018, Multi Poland switched on the Christmas light decorations in its multifunctional centre Forum Gdańsk. Over 150,000 people visited Forum Gdańsk over the weekend to see the nearly half million lights. Local residents and visitors will be able to admire the spectacular Christmas decorations until mid-January 2019.
Forum Gdansk, located in the historical city centre of Gdańsk, opened its doors to the public in May 2018 and had already attracted more than five million people in its first four months.

The central element of the Christmas decorations at Forum Gdańsk is the 28-metre tall Christmas tree decorated with stars and topped with a diamond. The diadem itself is so bright that it can be seen right across the Gdańsk city centre. And the light tunnel installed on the footbridge above the square immediately became one of the favourite places to snap a photo or take a selfie. Another striking element is the galleon suspended from the historic bridge with canvas sails, inspired by a sailing ship that adorns the nearby nineteenth century National Bank of Poland building. The 6.5-metre reindeer is also proving popular, and the whole is complemented by light stars and ice-breakers installed on the two main facades of the Forum. Modern technology created the effect of flowing lights that look unusually realistic to the centre’s visitors.
“Decorations like these, inspired by the history of a particular place, are a true rarity not only in Poland but also in Europe. We are very pleased that our decorations are delighting the city’s inhabitants and our visitors,” says Magdalena Gibney, Centre Manager Forum Gdańsk.
