Multi sells prime office building in Lisbon to an Asian Investment Fund
Multi announces it has completed the sale of one of Lisbon’s prime office buildings (15,000-sqm) to an Asian investment fund. The building, completed in 2012, is the head office of NOS, one of the leading telecommunications companies in Portugal.
NOS is the main tenant of the building and it will remain as its headquarters. It is located in Campo Grande, one of the city’s very best office locations, five minutes from Lisbon’s historical centre and international airport.
The office building has a unique symmetrical structure designed by CPU Urbanistas e Arquitectos and Multi’s in-house design studio, TTDesign. It is part of a major project involving the area around the Alvalade XXI Stadium, a development by CPU Urbanistas. Its glass façade faces the Campo Grande gardens, surrounded by landscaped areas and ample pedestrian walkways. The nine-floor office block was built using a variety of materials and has a striking presence in this central location, just off the “segunda circular”, Lisbon’s primary ring road. The building therefore benefits from unique visibility from Portugal’s busiest traffic link. It won the SIL IMOBILIÀRIO prize in 2012, a Portuguese real estate award in the office building category.
Francisco Cavaleiro de Ferreira, Managing Director Multi Portugal and Spain, said: “We are very proud to announce the completion of this sale, one of the latest major acquisitions in Portugal’s office real estate market. Multi conceived this office building to create a real in-town office park with state-of-the-art architecture, a well-designed public space and green areas. The importance on the selection of the best materials, will contribute for the long term sustainability of the asset.”
