Warsaw, Amsterdam, 15 October 2019
Multi’s Forum Gdańsk won two awards at the 10th annual PRCH Retail Awards gala organised by the Polish Council of Shopping Centres (PRCH) in Warsaw on 10 October 2019. The centre was presented with a gold award in the category ‘New Shopping Centre’ and received a silver award for its opening campaign.
The PRCH Retail Awards’ jury said it appreciated Forum Gdańsk’s cooperation with the Gdańsk city council and local institutions, which together implemented the project in a private-public partnership. Forum Gdańsk’s opening campaign was praised for its bold strategy, the honesty of its communication, creative crisis management and its involvement of the local community.
“We are deeply honoured to receive these awards, especially as competition in the industry is high. We offer visitors a beautiful space, unique architecture and a commercial offering enriched with culture and entertainment. We are pleased that this is appreciated by our retailers and customers and now has been recognised by the PRCH Retail Awards jury”, says Magdalena Gibney, Center Manager Forum Gdańsk.
“Customer feedback is very important to us, because knowing their expectations gives us the opportunity to tailor our offering accordingly. We have been looking to establish a dialogue with visitors right from the beginning. And this turns out to have been the right strategy. Over 12.5 million people visited Forum Gdańsk in the first 365 days after its opening in 2018,” adds Antoine Mocachen, Managing Director Central & Eastern Europe at Multi Corporation.
Forum Gdańsk
The modern urban shopping destination Forum Gdańsk is strategically located in Gdańsk, adjacent to the Gdańsk Główny railway station, the historical Old Town and key municipal buildings. The shopping centre offers an extensive range of international and premium brands, dining options, a cutting-edge cinema, 1,100 parking spaces and a new public transport hub. On top of this, the centre features Poland’s first bee-friendly garden with on-site honey production. It also includes a boutique hotel, the multi-functional Gdańsk Heritage Centre and the Watercraft Building – a museum that pays homage to the city’s rich maritime tradition. The centre boasts a public square designed as an attractive space to meet and relax. Visitors can enjoy comfortable seating surrounded by greenery or choose one of many cafés and restaurants with gardens. Forum Gdańsk is home to a historical canal that is accessible to visitors 24/7. The banks of this canal were revitalised through the addition of a glass roof for all-weather enjoyment, creating a pedestrian passageway between the city centre and the public transport hub.
PRCH Retail Awards
The PRCH Retail Awards are a specialised, independent competition organised annually by the Polish Council of Shopping Centres for the entire retail sector, including retail chains, developers, investors and shopping centre managers. The goal of the competition is to award prizes for – and promote – achievements, best practices, and innovative actions. Due to the fact that the assessment is comprehensive, focuses on content, and is conducted by leading experts from the sector, academic circles, marketing and the media, the prizes granted in the PRCH Retail Awards competition are considered the most prestigious and most credible on the market.
