Between the southern Münsterland and the northern Ruhr area, lies the town of Dorsten, which belongs to the district of Recklinghausen. Dorsten with its approx. 76,000 inhabitants is located directly on the Lippe, the longest river in North Rhine Westphalia and is therefore an attractive local recreation area.
