Multi’s Forum Lviv voted Ukrainian Project of the Year
Multi Development Ukraine’s flagship Forum Lviv shopping centre has been voted ‘Project of the Year’ at the 2013 Ukrainian Property Awards. The ceremony, organized by the Ukrainian Real Estate Club to identify the best of the best projects in retail, residential, hotel and office real estate, was held on 14 February in Kiev.
Despite the fact that other candidates seemed to meet all the traditional requirements for winning the award, being both larger and located in the capital city of Kiev, Forum Lviv won the judges over with the quality of its architecture, its sustainability, and the fact that Multi’s shopping centre is set to make a real contribution to the revival of an historical part of the beautiful city of Lviv.
“We see this Project of the Year prize as recognition of Multi’s efforts to create a different kind of retail experience. And this award shows that we can also make difference in Ukraine, too.
With exactly a year to go until Forum Lviv opens its doors, this award is a welcome endorsement of the uniqueness of this project, one that we believe will make a real contribution to Ukraine’s retail landscape”, said Gawein Minks, Managing Director of Multi Development Ukraine after Multi had accepted the award.
Forum Lviv is the result of the combined efforts of a number of highly professional and committed parties. The concept was created by T+T Design, Multi’s own design group, acclaimed for its outstanding urban development and architectural concepts. Multi is developing the Forum Lviv shopping center with local minority partners Galereja-Сentre and Budhouse Group. EBRD and Unicredit secured the financing of the project. Construction is on track and the leasing of retail space in the new centre is well ahead of schedule, making Forum Lviv a success even before it opens its doors for business.
By focusing on attracting the strongest international and national retailers to the project, with a mix of well-established players or newcomers to the local regional Ukrainian market, the Multi leasing team is ensuring that the final retail mix will create the maximum benefit for local consumers. So far, the Multi team has leased out 80% of the available retail space, and the Forum Lviv brand portfolio already includes the likes of Inditex (Zara, Bershka, Pull&Bear, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti, Oysho), LPP brands (Reserved, Mohito, Cropp Town, House), MANGO, Terranova, Calliope, Amstor, Comfy, L’Etual, Planeta Kino, Igroland, Sportmaster, InCity, and many more leading national and international brands. We expect to announce further additions to Forum Lviv’s brands portfolio shortly.
Multi Development Ukraine, one of the co-founders of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) in Ukraine, will be represented at the ICSC Retail Connections to be held in March 2014 in London.
